Warranty Terms & Conditions

RVN Gearboxes Ltd.

At RVN Gearboxes Ltd., we take pride in the quality and reliability of our gearbox repair and reconditioning services. These Warranty Terms & Conditions apply to all gearbox services provided.

1. Warranty Coverage

We offer two levels of warranty depending on the service provided:

Repair Service Warranty – 6 Months

Covers only the specific fault that was reported and repaired.

Unlimited mileage within the 6-month period.

Any new or unrelated faults are not covered.

Full Reconditioning Warranty – 12 Months

Covers the entire gearbox, including all replaced components and labor.

Unlimited mileage within the 12-month period.

Full rebuild includes new bearings, seals, synchros, and full testing.

2. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

Incorrect installation, misuse, neglect, or lack of routine maintenance.

Oil contamination, overheating, or running the gearbox with insufficient, excessive, or incorrect oil.

Failure to follow manufacturer-recommended gearbox oil specifications and capacities.

Damage caused by accidents, modifications, or unauthorised repairs.

Shipping damage (we strongly recommend insured couriers).

Important:
We do not provide warranty coverage for the following vehicle types:

Hire vehicles

Taxis / Private hire vehicles

Couriers and delivery vehicles

Haulage and fleet vehicles

Commercial goods vehicles

3. Oil Specification, Quantity & Servicing Requirements

To maintain warranty coverage, the following oil-related conditions must be strictly met:

Only manufacturer-approved gearbox oil may be used.

Customers must contact the vehicle manufacturer to confirm the exact oil specification and quantity required.

Use of underfilled or overfilled oil will void the warranty.

An invoice for the purchase of the correct gearbox oil must be retained and provided upon request.

Gearbox oil must be changed every 5,000 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first.

Required Documentation

To validate the warranty, the customer must:

Provide vehicle mileage at the time of gearbox installation.

Submit a copy of the invoice for gearbox installation and oil purchase.

Submit proof of oil servicing, including:

A 5000-mile or 12-month service invoice.

A copy of the invoice for the correct oil used during that service.

4. Warranty Claim Procedure

To make a claim:

1. Contact us via email or phone with your invoice number and a full description of the issue.

2. We may request photographs or ask that the gearbox be returned for inspection.

3. If the issue is covered, we will repair or replace the faulty part free of charge.

Note:

The gearbox must be returned to our workshop at the customer’s cost for assessment.

If the fault is found to be covered under warranty, return shipping will be free of charge.

5. Labour, Diagnostics & Third-Party Costs

Our warranty does not cover:

Labour costs from third-party garages or workshops.

Vehicle diagnostic charges.

Removal or refitting of the gearbox.

Hire vehicle costs or breakdown recovery fees.

6. Voiding the Warranty

Your warranty will be void if:

The gearbox is dismantled, opened, or tampered with by an unauthorised party.

The gearbox is run with insufficient, excessive, contaminated, or incorrect oil.

Oil change intervals are not followed or properly documented.

The gearbox is installed without verifying and using the manufacturer-specified oil type and volume.

Return instructions are not followed (e.g., not draining oil prior to shipping).

7. Shipping Requirements

⚠️ All gearboxes must be fully drained of oil before shipping.
Couriers may charge up to £200 for oil spillages, which is the customer's responsibility.
